The Speedgate design project was an exploration of designing with sheet metal at its most intentional within industrial and architectural hardware. The challenge was to solve a complex product design problem using cutting and bending processes, while minimising moulded components, placing design for manufacturing at the core of the approach from the outset.

This constraint drove a modernist design language shaped by material logic and precision in industrial design execution. Every surface and transition was resolved to balance efficiency, durability, and a sense of visual clarity, reinforcing that good design is not just aesthetics, but a direct outcome of how industrial design affects manufacturing and long-term performance.

Designed for real-world use in high-traffic corporate environments, the Speedgate applies durable product design principles to address wear and tear without visual excess in everyday security and access systems. Clean lines, controlled proportions, and a refined material palette allow it to integrate seamlessly across varied architectural contexts.

The result is a product where form and functionality work in quiet alignment, robust, contemporary, and purpose-built for modern workplaces and large-scale deployment.
